Burton McLaren Vale Shiraz (2003)
After picking, pressing and fermenting these wines were allowed to mature in both French and American oak for 18 months and bottle matured for 12 months before its first release.
Showing typical characteristics from McLaren Vale these wines are wonderfully rich in its deep red colour, black peppery nose and a hint of the oak gives added complexity. The finish is long and firm.
These wines may be enjoyed now or with continuing careful cellaring will reward with additional complexity until 2025, probably longer.
Best served at 15ºC.
2003 saw a perfect balance of rainfall and moderate temperatures which lead to an even ripening of grapes.The necessary balance of baume and flavour were evident allowing the fruit to be picked at the optimum time.
