More medals and ratings are awarded when wines are young. Very seldom are they judged with bottle maturation .

 

Not so with us, we recently asked Dr Ray Healey, one of Australia’s foremost and respected wine Judges for his thoughts. Ray has been Chairman of Judges in Hobart, Tasmania and judged in Hong Kong, Sydney and Melbourne, including for the famous Jimmy Watson Trophy. Serving temperature was the optimal16C. Glassware was from Riedal.

Australian Awards

 

Burton Premium Wines has been awarded over 100 medals in Australian National Wine Shows including a Gold Medal for our 2000 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon in the Perth Wine Show of 2002 where in a class of over 100 entrants only 4 Gold Medals were awarded.

This clearly indicates recognition of the quality of our fruit selection and winemaking.

 

The Burton 1998 'Reserve' Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon won the Best Red Wine Bottle award at the prestigious 2002 Boutique Winemakers Association Awards. Judging paid particular attention to initial impact, front and back label design, the bottle, the capsule and overall impression.
